2. Types of Angular Contact Ball bearings
(1)Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings Single row angular contact ball bearing can only bear one-way axial load, it has a contact angle, generally 15 °, 25 ° or 40 °, the larger the contact angle, the greater the axial load carrying capacity.
(2)Matched Angular Contact Ball Bearings Matched angular contact ball bearings are formed by combining two single-row bearings, which can be back-to-back (DB), face-to-face (DF) or tandem (DT) configurations to adapt to different axial loads and rigidity requirements.
(3)Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings Double-row angular contact ball bearings are equivalent to two single-row bearings combined back to back, sharing a common outer ring, able to withstand bidirectional axial loads and larger radial loads. Because of the compact structure, widely used in agricultural machinery, automobile transmission and industrial transmission system.
(4)Four Point Contact Ball Bearings The raceway design of four-point contact ball bearings enables them to withstand bi-directional axial loads in the same bearing and occupy little space. They are suitable for applications with limited space and large axial loads, such as aerospace equipment, crane slewing mechanisms and rotary tables.
(5)Separable Angular Contact Ball Bearings Separate type angular contact ball bearing inner ring or outer ring can be split, easy to install and dismantle, usually used for high precision, high speed rotating equipment, such as aviation engine, turbine machinery and precision instruments.
3. Angular Contact Ball Bearing Characteristics
(1)Can simultaneously withstand radial and axial loads: Due to its inner and outer ring raceways there is a certain angle (contact angle), the bearing can withstand radial loads in the rotation process at the same time, support one-way or two-way axial load.
(2)Suitable for high-speed operation: Precision design, low friction, able to operate stably at high speeds.
(3)High rigidity: Mounted in pairs or in multiple combinations (e.g. DB, DF, DT arrangement) can enhance the bearing capacity and system rigidity.
(4)A variety of structural forms: Including single-row, double-row, four-point contact, separation type and other different types, in order to adapt to the needs of a variety of mechanical equipment.
4. Angular Contact Ball Bearing Application
Angular contact ball bearings are widely used across various industries due to their ability to withstand both radial and axial loads while offering high rotational precision and stiffness.
(1)Machine Tool Spindles: Angular contact ball bearings, especially when mounted in pairs, enhance machining accuracy by providing high stiffness, precision, and speed. They also help reduce vibration and heat generation, improving overall performance.
(2)Electric Motors & Power Equipment: In high-speed electric motors, wind turbines, and other power machinery, angular contact ball bearings ensure reliable operation with low friction, supporting smooth and efficient performance.
(3)Automotive Industry: Found in key components such as wheels, gearboxes, steering systems, and clutches, these angular contact ball bearings contribute to vehicle stability, durability, and enhanced driving performance.
(4)Medical Machinery: Essential for precision devices like CT scanners, dental equipment, and artificial heart pumps, these angular contact ball bearings offer low noise and high accuracy, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
(5)Industrial Robotics & Automation: Used in robotic joints, linear guides, and automation machinery, they provide high rigidity and precise movement control, crucial for accuracy and efficiency.
(6)Precision Instrument: Optical instruments, measuring devices, and high-precision testing equipment benefit from angular contact ball bearings due to their low friction and high rigidity, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
